ILS is the stuff

Good morning, people of humbler times! This is Ivan, communicating to you through the power of HTTP and RSS.

For as long as mankind has existed, we have always wanted, or more so, needed, a platform.

What do I mean by a platform? Well, a stage, a microphone, a paper. A platform to throw our thoughts, hopes and dreams.

For a very long time, I've been using the Fediverse and blog to share passing thoughts and my website to share discoveries, but I also want to share things about everyday life! The two options I have listed earlier, though, have a share of issues that make them unapt for this purpose: Fediverse

Fediverse

The Fediverse is nice, great even! But it has some drawbacks:

• Lack of privacy.
• Bidirectional communication (responses, reactions, etc.).

Blog

I love me some blogs! With that said, it also didn't fulfill the needs of my semi-personal platform.

• Requirement of elaborated posts.
• Long and painful submitting process.
• Theoretical lack of privacy (for readers).

My new platform

As my new semi-personal blogging platform thing, I will be using a Matrix channel!

Matrix fixes most, if not all, of the issues mentioned earlier. My privacy is protected with end-to-end encryption, and so is the readers' privacy by having their home server act as a proxy.

It being a private channel allows me to cherry-pick who gets to see my sweet posts and who doesn't. Also, it being in Matrix makes publishing easy!
